About Us

Who We Are

A Bible-believing congregation rooted in Scripture, committed to one another, and dedicated to serving our community.

Our Mission

Faithful to God's Word

Laurel Street Church of Christ exists to glorify God by following the New Testament pattern of Christianity. We believe the Bible is God's complete and inspired Word, and we strive to teach and practice Christianity without adding to or taking away from Scripture. Our mission is simple: to know Christ and to make Him known.

Evangelism

We are committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ — locally through community outreach and Bible studies, and globally through mission support. Every member is encouraged to be a light in the world, inviting others to experience the hope found in Christ.

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. — Mark 16:15

Edification

We build one another up through faithful teaching, genuine fellowship, and loving accountability. Through Bible classes for all ages, small groups, and shared worship, we grow together in faith, knowledge, and Christlike character.

Let all things be done for edification. — 1 Corinthians 14:26

Benevolence

We demonstrate God's love in practical ways — through our Food Pantry, community health outreach, and support for those facing hardship. We believe faith without works is incomplete, and serving others is central to the Christian life.

Let us do good to all, especially to those of the household of faith. — Galatians 6:10

What We Believe

Our Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and complete Word of God — our sole authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and reigns as Lord (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace through faith, received by hearing the gospel, believing in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing faith, and being baptized into Christ (Acts 2:38; Ephesians 2:8-9).

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ — a community of believers who worship together, encourage one another, and serve the world. Christ is the head of the church (Ephesians 1:22-23).

Worship

We follow the New Testament pattern of worship — congregational singing, prayer, preaching of God's Word, the Lord's Supper, and giving — offered in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

Christian Living

We believe Christians are called to lives of holiness, love, and service — reflecting the character of Christ in our homes, workplaces, and communities (Romans 12:1-2).

Hope

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the return of Christ, and eternal life with God for the faithful — a hope that sustains us in every season (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Come and See

The best way to understand who we are is to worship with us. Whether you've been in church your whole life or you're just beginning to explore faith — there is a place for you at Laurel Street. Come experience the warmth of a church family that loves God and loves people.
